Invitation:

This series honors the late PC Nelson J. Macan, an RYC member from 1908 until 1960. He was very active in Club functions, was an exalted sailor, and superb racer. Over his life he significantly contributed to RYC's growth, progress and racing program. He proudly served the Club with many terms on RYC's Board of Governors, as Vice-Commodore (1914-1916) and as Commodore (1924-1925). To his superior seamanship, his excellent sportsmanship, and in his memory the members of Raritan Yacht Club dedicate this race series. The Macan Series is RYC's premier race series, and structured to provide a variety of race course lengths and configurations to challenge the racers' total sailing skills.
